Attention Alfred State Alumni – Ready to get out of the house? Join us for the Chocolate & Wine Pairing Tour, Seneca Lake.
This is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate Valentine’s Day early! You can join us for the day or make a weekend of it.
Tickets may be used from Feb. 8 – 10, but the Alfred State Alumni Council offers the opportunity for alumni and guests to board one of two buses in Geneva on Saturday, Feb. 9 and visit several wineries. (Should you decide to visit wineries on Friday or Sunday, you cannot attend the wineries on the itinerary for the weekend).
Buses will meet all guests at the following location by 9:30 a.m.:

The full itinerary for both will not be received until two weeks prior to the event. However, some of the wineries that have been requested we visit are following:

Aside from the winery where we will be starting, we will be visiting The Inn at Glenora Wine Cellars where we will have lunch. Cost for the wine tour and lunch is $55 per person. Each alum may register up to three guests.

Veraisons chicken Caesar salad – romaine lettuce, basil besto flat break, lively run feta cheese and house made Caesar dressing with grilled chicken breast

Cuban smoked pork sandwich – Finger Lakes red meck cheese, ham, pork, chipotle aioli and gherkin relish on a pressed sub roll, served with house-made chip & a pickle

Chicken sandwich – cranberry chutney cheese spread, grilled red onion, lettuce and tomato on “cran-brie” sourdough bread, served with house-made chips and a pickle

Turkey club sandwich – turkey, lettuce, tomato, bacon, mayonnaise, on a trio of white toast, served with house-made chips and a pickle

Vegetarian Panini – poached pear, Cayuga blue cheese, red wine gastrique, spinach on pumpkin cinnamon sourdough, served with house-made chips and a pickle
Ten rooms have been set aside at the Ramada Geneva Lakefront Hotel in Geneva for the night of Saturday, February 9 should folks wish to stay overnight. Reservations for the hotel must be placed directly with them at a rate of $99 plus tax on a first come, first served basis. Please let them know you are calling for one of the rooms blocked off for the Alfred State Alumni. The block of rooms will no longer be held after Jan. 9. Rooms have two double beds.
Following the days’ events, the buses will meet back at the Ramada where an assortment of complimentary hors d’oeuvres will be served for all. This will be a nice way to wrap up the fun. Please be sure to let us know if you plan to attend this gathering so we can plan appropriately.
