Session Drawings is a solo exhibition of drawings and animations by artist Adam Hinterlang. Hinterlang has a BFA in Photography, New Media and Art History from Kansas City Art Institute and an MFA in Electronic Integrated Art from NYSCC at Alfred University. He is currently an Instructor at Kansas State University and a Tech Specialist for Spinifex Group based in Sydney, AU.
Hinterlang's work explores natural and unnatural cycles, ideas of change, and life as a continuous state of flux. His drawings, created in layers, evolve through a process of repeated drawing sessions, each session being allowed to have its length determined by the demands of everyday life. His animations continue this exploration with subtle changes in image and sound. These changes create a continuing cycle of harmony and dissonance dictated by chance operations that mimic weather and geologic activity.
